The blue light is on but the pen tip isn't heating up. Is it defective?

The switch is turned to "ON".

The tip nut needs to be tightened securely.

The controller dial should be start 1 level, and increase gradually until you find the fit setting for your material and cutting speed.

The wire must be straight and not folded

What materials can this cutter handle? How setting control's level?

Works with low-density EPS, EPE, foam board, KT board; NOT for high-density polystyrene, PET, PVC, etc.

Strictly Prohibited for Non-foam Flammable Materials: Paper, EVA etc.

Is it normal for the tip to glow red? Will the tip connection melt?

The tip may glow red, but prolonged redness shortens wire life — adjust to just below the red-glowing point.

About the connection: The copper ferrule effectively insulates heat from the plastic base, preventing melting and loosening.

Is the power cord long enough? Is the tip still hot after powering off?

The 4.6ft (1.4m) cord provides ample length for most workspaces.

After powering off, the tip stays hot for several minutes. Let it cool completely on the metal stand, then clean off the oxide with the included brush before storing.

How long can I use it continuously? Any tips for best results?

No more than 30 minutes at a time. Let it cool down between sessions to extend wire life.

Test on scrap first, then fine-tune the level to your material and speed.

Keep the wire moving gently — pausing on one spot may cause sticking and excess smoke.
